Belo Horizonte will proudly host for the first time, on November, 2014, the National Seminar of University Libraries (SNBU). The event, involving researchers and participants from all over the country, is in its 18th edition, and will be sponsored by the Federal University of Minas Gerais Library System (SB/UFMG).
Presenting the theme “University Libraries and Public Access to Information: articulating laws, technologies, practices and management”, the Seminar intends to stimulate reflections on the role of the libraries and of the information professionals before the contemporary production of knowledge and the perception of the civil society, which highlights the importance of the information in the social context as a function of the enactment of several legal provisions, among which, the Act of Access to Information.
Reflect on library practices, disclose new technologies and allow the exchange of experiences, within a context of access to the information and the dissemination of knowledge, are the purposes of the SNBU 2014.
We count on the expertise and competence of the professionals and students of the area to maintain the reputation of the event as one of the richest occasions for reflection and debates in the Library Sciences area.
